  • Sell, upgrade and cross-sell OMA Insurance solutions and services to new and existing members and their families.  Through consultative in-person or over the phone sales, meet and exceed prescribed sales and retention targets.  Always adhering to OMA Insurance as well as industry best practices and member satisfaction goals;


  • Create and follow-up on future business leads and upcoming renewals.  Deepen member relationships through thoroughly reviewing insurance policies, cross-selling and up-selling other OMA Insurance products and services;


  • Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with MD Advisors, local OMA Regional Managers, local hospitals, clinics and key stakeholders to leverage networks, to facilitate their involvement in local activities and initiatives, to foster relationships and ensure the value proposition relating to Insurance services is promoted and well understood, disseminate insurance information, expand awareness to increase effectiveness and penetration within those communities;


  • Deliver a unique and competitively superior insurance buying experience to clients both at time of sales and post sales servicing;


  • Conduct and actively participate in relevant insurance based seminars, presentations as well as locally sponsored events to medical students, residents and practicing physicians to reinforce insurance needs and to increase their awareness of the insurance plans available through their association as well as third party private plans; participate in student orientations and career and graduation sessions held at the medical schools in Ontario as required;


  • Communicate with members regarding OMA insurance plan provisions, eligibility, underwriting requirements, claims process and completion of applications; research and respond to general questions relating to insurance;


  • For all prospective insurance clients, complete needs-analysis, identify gaps, prepare and present solutions/recommendations based on best practice guidelines, complete applications and other necessary forms and provide follow-up to both the client and connected MD Consultant;


  • Handle inbound/outbound calls and emails answering questions from members interested in insurance products.  Conduct mailings and phone calls based on departmental marketing initiatives;


  • Assist additional development of marketing initiatives by presenting ideas for discussion and implementation and providing feedback based on insight gained from direct contact with members.





  • Work in a fast paced dynamic environment that requires focused attention to our members’ needs. Meet with members to complete needs analysis, present concepts, compose and present detailed written solutions/recommendations, complete and file applications and other necessary documents and provide follow-up to members to complete fulfillment of insurance solutions in accordance with department standards, the Advocis/CLU Institute Code of Professional Conduct (CPC) and compliance requirements;


  • Conduct presentations to medical students, residents and practicing physicians to reinforce insurance needs and to increase their awareness of the insurance plans available through their association as well as third party private plans; attend student orientations and career and graduation sessions held at the medical schools in Ontario;


  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external contacts to identify and leverage opportunities to promote both group and private insurance plans including a cross referral system, and joint consultations  for lifestyle protections and wealth management solutions with MD Physician Services as per the MD/PTMA Memorandum of Understanding;


  • Maintain a level of expertise in OMA and third party provider solutions as to add value, provide education, information, advice and insurance recommendations to members and others;


  • Maintain licenses and designations including appropriate continuing education requirements and providing regular updates to management and  the OMA Compliance officer.


Education: Bachelor degree in marketing, business or equivalent.  Be licensed in good standing to sell life and health insurance in identified provincial jurisdictions.  Progress toward the CFP, CLU designation is expected.


Experience: 5 years’ experience in the life/disability insurance field.



  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of life insurance,  disability income and health products

  • Expertise with computer-based illustration and presentation software

  • Experience with the application of life products to issues and opportunities faced by individuals in the early and mid career stages of working life

  • Experience with marketing insurance products to mid to moderate high net worth individuals and professionals.
